I keep seeing this preview for the new Ben Stiller movie called "The Heartbreak Kid." This preview drives me CRAZY. The premise of the movie....guy who won't commit meets girl that he thinks is "the one" and desides to marry her. Of course as soon as he marrys her, she completely changes and now he's stuck. What is the deal with this mentality?! One thing that drives Bill and I crazy are all the people that say, "Just wait till you're married" as if everything is going to change. First of all, we have been together NINE YEARS. If we've both been pulling the wool over each others eyes for nine years then we should be in the acting business. I'm going to write a movie that teaches the importance of not rushing into a marriage. One that says it really isn't crazy to stay together with someone for nine years and not pressure him into getting married.
I became even more bothered when I discovered that this movie is a remake!! Like it didn't suck enough the first time around?! Is there anyone out there that knew this movie existed back in the 70's? No......exactly!!

I like to periodically post National _______ Day (fill in the blank.) Today it just happens to be National Strawberry Cream Pie Day! Wait a minute....what? Who comes up with these days? It's not even strawberry season!! Wouldn't you think that a day that is supposed to honor a food specific dessert, that food would be easy to find? That's what you'd think wouldn't you....but you'd be wrong.

Becki has a beautiful and interesting face (I'm hoping by saying that she's not going to KILL me for posting this.) People have a hard time guessing what nationality she is and to top it all off she takes amazing pictures. This woman always looks good in photos!! Then you add the fact that she is an extremely creative graphic designer and this is the kind of thing you get.......If there are any magazine publishers out there that would like to put this on their cover, please let me know. I will be working as her agent in this matter!

I'm now officially addicted to two more shows! Thank goodness some of the others that I was watching are over now. The first show is a Showtime series called "Californication" and the second is the new show "Dirty Sexy Money." I've only seen one episode of "Dirty Sexy Money" but so far so good. I must admit though, I think a good portion of this has to do with the lovely gentleman that are finally back on tv. Good ol David Duchovny (X-Files) and Peter Krause (Six Feet Under.) Thank goodness for DVR!

Last night I took Frances to the Justin Timberlake show at Arco Arena. That guy definitely puts on a good show. Lots of good dancing!! On the other hand...we have the opening act! I don't even know who in the heck it was but it was AWFUL. Almost painful to sit through at times. Also, when did the delay between the opening act and the main act change to an hour??? I always thought it was about a half hour, so it either got longer or I got older and more impatient. It just felt like we were waiting forever. Overall, great show and I would definitely go and check him out again!!

Today Bill and I went and got our marriage license! We're now just 19 days away till the wedding and getting more excited by the day. Not only is it marriage license day but it is also our 9 year anniversary. I really can't believe it's been 9 years, but at the same time it's hard to remember a time when I wasn't with Bill. He takes up all the special and important memories. I love you B and Happy Anniversary!!

It must be the week of cute bags! While I was in Bath and Body works purchasing their delicious new apple fragrance I noticed that they had a cute bag special as well. With a $20 purchase you got the bag for $15. Super cute and perfect for the new fall chilly weather!

Today was my bachelorette party and the ladies all took me on a wine tasting. This was the first time that I'd ever been wine tasting and it was a blast! Really good wine, really good food and even better company. Plus, I met a great new friend named Joe! My favorite winery by far was Dobra. The tasting room is in one of the caves of the winery. They have the cutest logo on their bottle which is a caricature of Milan the wine maker. I bought a bottle of wine and even got Milan to sign it for me!
A big thank you to all the ladies for planning and coming!

I've been noticing alot of stuff online lately about reusable grocery bags. I would love to start this myself but didn't want to pay alot on a reusable bag but at the same time wanted something cute. I went to Trader Joes and they have the CUTEST reusable grocery bag. I absolutely love the artwork used!! I think I'm going to have to go back and purchase a couple more. I wonder if SaveMart would be pissed if I made them use someone elses grocery bag??

I finally went and saw the movie "Superbad." Since I was such a big fan of "Knocked Up" I thought I should give it a try. I must say that it is pretty hilarious! There are some very classic moments where I was laughing out loud in the theatre. I mean, how can you go wrong with a dorky kid who is getting called McLovin?!

Yesterday was our company golf tournament. Lucky for me I am the photographer at the event and don't have to actually golf. I've never been a fan of golf. Last time I tried I shot a 69. You're thinking, "Wow Stacey, that's amazing..you should golf more!" Well, that was a 69 on NINE HOLES! Yes, I am terrible. It's nice going to the golf tournament though and seeing people that are also bad. The only thing I really like about golf is the cart. It is so much fun bouncing around on the grass in a highspeed cart! I'm not sure Bill enjoys it all that much, and sometimes reaches for the Oh S&%T bar. Bill is not a golfer either which is interesting because I swore I would never marry someone that played golf!

Today is officially this blogs one year anniversary! I can't believe that I've been doing this every day for a year. I think I did notice a month where I missed a day, but still impressive. Thanks to those that read, to those that remind me to update and those that comment! You are what keeps me blogging!!

I've had an unfortunate event with the wedding invites. To sum it up....some aren't arriving! I'm not quite sure why. The post office blames it on dark colored envelopes but I think it's a crock of butter (to put it politely.) I have to say that I've gotten lucky, so far we are up to just 5 MIA invitations. It just sucks because invitations aren't cheap and it's not like a surplus of extras are ordered. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there aren't more missing!! Damn you US Postal Service!

Yesterday I had a funny experience, and I can't say it's the first time it's happened. I took a shower right before bed Thursday night and on Friday morning woke up a bit late. This meant no morning shower, which really means NOT A GOOD HAIR DAY! It also meant, not much time to pick out something to wear. Being a Friday I wanted something comfortable, casual...and clean!
I threw on a cotton dress with a short sleeve turtleneck underneath, put my hair in two pigtails and threw on my favorite hat. I was literally ready in minutes. When I walked into the office I was instantly told by three different people that I looked really cute and they liked my outfit. What?! How come when I take hours to get ready this never happens?!
This continued last night too. I met some girlfriends for dinner and decided to stick with my outfit cause you know, when you have a good thing going. On the street walking to the restaurant I was told by two complete strangers that I looked really cute! Do you think anyone would notice if I wore this outfit everyday? From now on I'm getting up late every morning.

I went to Kohl's recently to check out the new items by Vera Wang that Kohl's is carrying. The clothes are awesome, very classy styles that are timeless. Only problem is they are very cheaply made! There was a dress that I liked and at two stores it was ripped at the seams in the same spot......and it was $130! For Kohl's I think this is a little pricey, even if it is Vera Wang. I just think if you are going to charge that much for something it better be made very well. Sorry Vera!

There is this groovy nail salon in Natomas that some of us ladies go to get pedis. They do really good pedis there when you are looking for the nice relaxing pedi with a good massage. It was rumored that there was actually a woman there that had six fingers. Well, she finally was spotted while she was giving Wendy a pedi. Apparently this condition is either called Polydactyly or Sexdactyly and is not too uncommon. When I pedi is concerned I figure it's just one more finger to massage my foot with!!

I've been trying to compile music for the wedding. There is a place on the RSVP for people to request two songs, but I'm still going to have to come up with stuff on my own. It's been fun seeing what people request for sure.
Now it's up to you! I know you readers are out there, even though you only comment every once in a while. Please post a little comment and let me know what your top 5 songs would be!! Comment even if you can only think of two!! Just comment damnit, I need music!

I love Halloween, it's probably my favorite holiday. I always wish that it was still ok for me to dress up and go trick or treating. Instead I just pass out candy to the three or four kids that come to the door...so pathetic. I was excited when I went to the grocery store today and saw that the Martha Stewart Holiday Halloween issue was out. Although it has alot of the same ideas as last time there is still some groovy stuff. Too bad I'm not having a Halloween party so I could practice all the ideas. I figure planning a wedding is enough party planning for the month of October! Oh well...maybe next year.

I got an opportunity to set up a booth at the Midtown Festival for 2nd Saturday with my vintage button rings for sale. It went over excellent! I sold 9 rings, most I've done so far. I'm going to get some pictures of the rings together and list them on Etsy soon. Also, thanks to Kim, I have a BUNCH of new beautiful buttons to make rings out of so there will be lots of great stuff just in time for the holidays!!
Thanks again to Sondra who helped set the booth up for me! It was great seeing you!

Last night some ladies from highschool and I got together for dinner. Some of us hadn't seen each other since highschool, so we'll just leave it at over 10 years ago. It was SOOOO great to get together. Even though all this time had passed it really didn't feel like more than a couple days. We're going to make this a regular event now and I honestly can't wait. Plus, don't we all really look not a day over 18?!

A cute dog showed up in our neighborhood last week and so far no one has claimed her. Now the mission is to find her a good home. She's approximately 9 months old and has all of her shots. She's a big lover and really likes attention, she'll stick right by your side and maybe even sit on your feet. She is some sort of Shepherd mix and has AMAZING ears! There are a few pictures on Flickr, but you really have to see her in person to really know how adorable she is. If you are interested, let me know!!

I tend to be in the car alot in need of a phone number. I'm AWFUL at using 411 cause I use it alot. It's such a ridiculous waste of money, but there just aren't that many options when you are in the car. It's not like I'm going to start carrying the yellow pages!
Then those geniuses over at Google came up with Google 411. Google 411 is a FREE information phone number! You can call as many times as you want for as many listings as you want and you won't be charged a penny. What's even better.....Google 411 will connect you AND send you details in a text message! It just doesn't get better than that. There are a whole bunch of other options which I haven't even begun to play with yet. The number is 1-800-466-4411, give it a try...I know you will like it.

Tomorrow is "Pirate Day" at our office. I will most likely not be going into the office in a pirate outfit since I really don't have one thing that looks pirate like. I will say though, if I had the hot body....and wasn't breaking a bunch of H/R dress code rules I would be strutting into the office in this for sure.

There's a great website that I think everyone needs to know about. http://www.zazzle.com/
What is zazzle? It's a site where you can order all kinds of custom products. I've used it mostly for shirts. You can put your own artwork on a shirt, mug, apron, etc. I'm going to be using it for the wedding to make shirts for the helpers and an apron for the bbq guy. You should also give it a try!

I know I've brought up a couple shows on here that I like to watch, we can blame all that on the luxury of DVR!! My ab fab favorite right now is "Weeds." This is actually one of my all time favorites and I'm super happy to be reminded of that now that it's back on. This show is funny and dark....all in one green package!

The invites officially went in the mail on Saturday. It was exciting to put them in the mail and I can't believe it's just a little over a month away. I'm sure I'll be even more excited when the RSVP cards start pouring in.
Don't forget, you can also check out our wedding website at

Tonight we went to a new restaurant named Lucille's Smokehouse Barbecue. It was DELICIOUS! Bill and I shared the beef brisket which was some of the best stuff I've ever tasted. They serve you biscuits before the meal that are spectacular and then we finished the meal off with a Snickers pie. Let's just say...it satisfied!
